The assertion that none of the members of the Youth Employment Agency have been employed has been refuted by the Secretary of the Toll Workers with Disabilities.
Previously, the Ghana Toll Workers Association refuted the Youth Employment Agency’s claim that it was hiring about 282 disabled people, calling it a lie.
The government decided to hire the former toll workers, according to the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency, Kofi Baah Agyepong, at a press conference on Thursday, February 22, in Accra. He stated that the decision was made to give the people a stable income and a chance to help shape policies about disability rights.
In response, the employees said they had never been hired by the government.
However, Ametor Ellah, the PWD toll workers’ secretary, acknowledged that the YEA has employed him as well as a few of his coworkers.
I would like to inform you that the claim that certain members of our community have not been hired due to their qualifications is untrue. They requested SHS credentials up to the degree level.
A few of them have jobs, and I have had jobs as well. My appointment letter is ready, and I received a call for an interview.
