Ghanaian attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante, who was born in England, faced a tough match on Saturday as his team, West Brom, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Sunderland in the Championship.

The game took place at the Hawthorns, where West Brom had a strong record against Sunderland, with 9 wins compared to Sunderland’s 3 wins and 5 draws.

Unfortunately for Thomas-Asante, he was shown a red card in the 43rd minute after receiving a second yellow card for a reckless challenge. This left West Brom with a man disadvantage for the rest of the game. Sunderland took advantage of this in the 45 + 2nd minute when Pierre Ekwah scored a goal from the center of the box, assisted by Callum Styles after a corner.

Despite the setback, Thomas-Asante has had a productive season, making 37 appearances, scoring 11 goals, and providing two assists in the league.

West Brom will now be looking to recover from this defeat as they prepare to face Leicester City in their next league game. It will be a tough challenge, but the team will be hoping to bounce back with a strong performance.
