The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has emphasized the importance of democracy in Ghana and reiterated the commitment of Parliament to ensuring its success. Bagbin highlighted democracy as the best form of governance for humanity and stressed the need for more lawyers in the country to support and sustain democracy.
Speaking during a courtesy call from the leadership of the Ghana School of Law, Bagbin emphasized the crucial role that lawyers play in protecting the fundamental human rights of citizens through legal representation. He called for urgent action to produce more lawyers to meet the growing demand and support the democracy of Ghana.
Bagbin also advocated for increased funding for the Ghana School of Law to enhance its facilities and expand its capacity. He expressed his intention to discuss with his colleagues in parliament to allocate resources to support the construction of new infrastructure for the school.
