The Paramount Chief of Wenchi Traditional Area, Osagyefo Ampem Anye Amoampong Tabrako III, has urged sub-chiefs under his jurisdiction to prioritize promoting development over engaging in litigation over land and other disputes.
Osagyefo Tabrako emphasized the importance of leadership in improving the well-being of the people, calling on chiefs to unite against underdevelopment. He highlighted the significant role of traditional rulers in mobilizing communities for communal projects and fostering a spirit of volunteerism.
Speaking during the launch of the 2024 Ahenfie Yefiri Royal homecoming at the Ahenfie Yefiri Royal Palace in Wenchi, the Paramount Chief stressed the need to redefine the roles of traditional rulers in the face of modernity. He emphasized the importance of education in community development and proposed the establishment of an education endowment fund to support needy but bright students from Wenchi.
Osagyefo Tabrako also called on Wenchi citizens, both locally and internationally, to collaborate in attracting investors to leverage the area’s abundant natural resources for accelerated development. He encouraged scholars from Wenchi to design programs that empower the youth to pursue higher education, ultimately reducing the financial burden on families.
