Berekum Chelsea defender Ahmed Adams has set his sights on helping his teammate Stephen Amankona clinch the Ghana Premier League goal king title by the end of the season.
With just two matches left in the season, the race for the top goal scorer in the Ghanaian top-flight has heated up. Amankona currently leads the race with 15 goals in 25 games, closely followed by Kotoko and Uganda international Steven Mukwala with 14 goals.
In a recent interview, Adams, who previously played for Asante Kotoko, expressed his commitment to supporting Amankona in his quest for the coveted goal king award.
“Amankona is a fantastic player. We are doing everything in our power to help him win the goal king award. We are rallying behind him to achieve this milestone,” Adams stated.
“We encourage the fans of the club to come out and support us so that we can secure the goal king title for him. With Amankona leading Mukwala by two goals, we are hopeful that he will score in the remaining games and clinch the award,” he added.
Berekum Chelsea currently sits in seventh place on the Ghana Premier League table with 47 points from 32 matches. As the season draws to a close, Adams and his teammates are determined to assist Amankona in securing the goal king title and bringing glory to the club.
