The five Paramount Chiefs of the Nadowli/Kaleo District in the Upper West Region have publicly declared their support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership and vision for Ghana.
During Dr Bawumia’s constituency-focused campaign tour and engagements with the traditional authorities of the Nadowli/Kaleo District, the Chiefs of Nadowli, Takpo, Charipkong, Kaleo, and Sankana highlighted the district’s recent developments, including upgraded feeder roads, constructed bridges, and gravelled roads. These improvements have improved accessibility and economic activities in the area.
Expressing their gratitude for these developments, the Chiefs pledged to vote “massively” for the NPP Presidential Candidate in order to continue the current government’s positive initiatives.
In response to their support, Dr Bawumia thanked the Chiefs and reiterated his commitment to facilitating the review of Section 63 of the Constitution to grant adjudicatory powers to traditional authorities. This would enable dispute resolution in palaces instead of the courts. He also reaffirmed his promise to ensure the payment of a Living Wage to Paramount and Divisional Chiefs and their Queens under his presidency.
The traditional authorities of the Nadowli/Kaleo District expressed their belief in Dr Bawumia’s leadership and vision for the nation. They stated, “Mr Vice President, we pledge the support of the Chiefs and people of Nadowli Kaleo Constituency to vote massively for you to become the President of Ghana. We believe in your leadership and vision for our nation. Thank you for addressing our concerns. We wish you a successful campaign and look forward to your presidency.”
The endorsement by the Chiefs highlights the growing support for Dr Bawumia’s candidacy in the upcoming elections. The traditional authorities have recognized the positive impact of the government’s projects in their district and are eager to see this progress continue under Dr Bawumia’s leadership.
