Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is set to make a permanent move to Leicester City, confirmed by Sporting CP’s manager Ruben Amorim.

The 20-year-old’s impressive season at the club has paved the way for a transfer to the Premier League side.

Despite facing challenges in his first season in Europe with Sporting, Issahaku’s loan spell at Leicester City played a crucial role in the team’s success in the Championship. His contributions on the field were instrumental in Leicester’s return to the English Premier League as winners of the Championship, leading to the activation of a €17 million buy option clause.

Amorim, known for his straightforward approach, expressed confidence in Issahaku’s future and the financial benefits the club will gain from his transfer. “Talented players who don’t adapt here will move to other clubs and give us added value; it’s our system,” Amorim stated.

Issahaku’s impact at Leicester was significant, with six goals and 13 assists to his name. He showcased his skills as a versatile player, scoring a hat-trick in Leicester’s 5-0 victory over Southampton and proving himself as one of the team’s key playmakers.
