Nations FC head coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey has attributed his team’s recent defeat to a lapse in focus during their match against Hearts of Oak. The Ghana Premier League Matchday 32 game saw Nations FC suffering a 2-0 loss against Hearts of Oak on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Kassim Cisse and Hamza Issah scoring for the victors in the 10th and 15th minutes.
In a post-match interview with StarTimes, Ocansey acknowledged the early goals were a result of his team losing focus, but he highlighted that their performance improved as the game progressed. “It’s unfortunate we lost. We conceded two quick goals, that’s what happened,” he stated. “After we conceded the goals, our boys started playing well. They lost focus initially, and that led to the early goals. Once they woke up, they played better, but unfortunately, we couldn’t equalize.”
Despite the defeat, Nations FC maintains their 4th position on the league table with 48 points. Looking forward, Kassim Mingle and his team are determined to bounce back to winning form as they gear up to face Bechem United in their upcoming Matchday 33 game at the Dr. Kwame Kyie Sports Complex. Stay tuned to see if Nations FC can turn the tide and secure a victory in their next fixture.
