The Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, is feeling positive about the team’s chances in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier against Mali. The match is set to take place in Bamako on Thursday night, with Ghana looking to secure a crucial victory.
With only one point separating Ghana and Mali in Group I, a win for the Black Stars could see them move joint-top of the standings. Despite a string of poor results in recent games, Addo believes his players are ready to give their all against the Eagles.
In a statement ahead of the match, Addo expressed his confidence in the team, stating, “Surely, I think we are ready for the game. I am very satisfied with how the players understood how we want to play. This is going to be a tough match away in Mali, but we also have the quality to compete against them.”
He added, “Although we didn’t have a good AFCON, we have the players to get three points from Mali.” The match is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 GMT.
