National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has expressed faith that, should the NDC win the next elections, the party will be able to handle the nation’s economic problems.

He highlighted the caliber of the men in the NDC, saying they are suited to make a good difference in the country’s destiny.

On a courtesy visit to the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, Mahama spoke about the significance of the general elections in 2024 and the need for an honest government. He asserted that Ghana needs a government that is dedicated to transparency and truthfulness.

The former president gave Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II, the Overlord of Dagbon, assurances that the NDC would give priority to resolving the Yendi water crisis in the event that they come to power, in addition to talking about other national concerns.

“We all know the struggles, aches, and sufferings our people endure; Ghana is in crisis right now. Therefore, the 2024 elections are among the most important in Ghanaian history. Ghana needs a capable, selfless, sincere, and truthful government to pull the country out of the mess the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration has left it in.

“I have faith that the NDC has the men and women to change our course and put Ghana back on its feet.” In order to maintain peace in the nation, the Yaa Naa warned the NDC flagbearer to run a clean campaign free of taunts and name-calling.

“I want to congratulate you and Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president, for a clean campaign so far,” Naa Jacob Mahama said on behalf of the Yaa Naa. When he was here the previous year, I told him to run a clean campaign with you, free of insults and resentment.

I’m giving you the same advice today: There isn’t another brother but you. Being on opposing sides of the political spectrum doesn’t make you enemies; on the contrary, it improves family politics. He also cautioned him to make sure his appointees deliver by rearranging them when necessary.

“Don’t be afraid to reorganize your team once you have the go-ahead from Ghanaians in order to add the most qualified and deserving members.” The NDC flagbearer’s visit to the palace is a component of his Northern Region “Building Ghana Tour.”
