Nations FC left frustrated after dominant display against Karela United ends in defeat

Nations FC coach Kasim Ocansey Mingle has voiced his frustration after his team’s dominant performance against Karela United ended in a 1-0 defeat over the weekend.

The Premier League debutants were left empty-handed as Giyasu Ibrahim’s goal secured the three points for Karela United in matchday 29 of the Ghanaian top-flight.

Despite the result, Mingle believes his side were in control for much of the game. “We went into the game with the mentality of holding onto the ball, possess it and then, when the opportunity comes we score,” he said.

“We dominated the game. We kept the ball as much as possible and then, take them on and move. Unfortunately for us, most of our moves towards goal were flagged offside. You saw the penalty against us and the one we had. I won’t comment much about officiating,” Mingle added.

The defeat leaves Nations FC in second place on the Ghana Premier League table with 45 points, seven points behind log leaders Samartex.

Despite the recent poor performance, Mingle remains confident in his team’s ability to bounce back and continue their impressive campaign in the league.
