Karela United coach Abukari Damba was left disappointed after a 3-1 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium. Despite taking an early lead through Dafie Humin Mohammed, Karela United struggled to maintain momentum, allowing Hearts of Oak to take control of the game.

In an interview with StarTimes after the match, Damba praised Hearts of Oak for their performance, stating, “Well I should be disappointed but I must say Hearts of Oak were a delight to watch. They played with so much momentum and took their chances.” He highlighted the importance of creating opportunities in football, admitting that his team fell short in this aspect.

“Football is all about chances, and I think Hearts of Oak just deserved to win this game because they took their chances. We did not create enough chances, despite scoring the first goal. We went back to sleep and did not convert them,” Damba said.

Hamza Issah’s brace and Salim Adams’ goal sealed the victory for Hearts of Oak, leaving Karela United in 16th place on the Premier League table with 30 points from 26 matches. Looking ahead, Karela United is gearing up to face Accra Lions in their next match on matchweek 27, hoping to bounce back from their defeat against Hearts of Oak.
