Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah has expressed his approval of the court’s decision to send former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe to jail. The Accra High Court handed down a 10-year prison sentence with hard labor to Tamakloe on April 16th. Additionally, the court sentenced Daniel Axim, the former Chief Operating Officer of MASLOC, to five years in prison.

Tuah-Yeboah praised the court’s decision, particularly noting the reassurance that Tamakloe will be brought back to Ghana to serve her sentence. He emphasized the importance of the judgment in expediting justice and highlighted Ghana’s legal framework for extraditing individuals from abroad to face legal consequences at home.

The court found both Tamakloe and Axim guilty on 78 counts, including causing financial loss to the state, theft, conspiracy to steal, money laundering, and violating public procurement laws, which led to the loss of public property.

Tuah-Yeboah stated, “Good news but what is refreshing is that she will be brought down to face the sentence, no problem at all.” He also commented on the process of extraditing individuals to Ghana to face judgment for crimes committed abroad, ensuring that Tamakloe will face the consequences of her actions.
