FC Samartex 1996 head coach, Nurudeen Adamu, has set his sights on representing Ghana in the CAF inter-club competition next season, should they secure the Premier League title this season.
The Samreboi-based club is currently leading the Premier League table with 52 points from 28 games, with about seven matches left in the 2023/24 campaign.
In an interview with Graphic Sports, Coach Nurudeen expressed the team’s determination to compete in the CAF Champions League next season, asserting that they are fully prepared to take on the challenge of representing the country on the continental stage.
Coach Nurudeen acknowledged the difficulties of CAF competitions and emphasized the importance of strengthening the squad with experienced players to navigate the rigorous tournament.
He pointed to Dreams FC’s remarkable performance in the competition this season as a blueprint for FC Samartex to follow, expressing confidence in the support from the club’s management and board of directors.
Taking inspiration from Dreams FC’s unexpected success, Coach Nurudeen underlined the importance of determination, commitment, and organizational backing in achieving their goals.
He also highlighted the financial benefits of participating in the competition, noting the opportunity to showcase their players to foreign clubs and potentially generate revenue for the club.
Despite recognizing the financial challenges and the need for experience, Coach Nurudeen emphasized that FC Samartex must be bold in pursuing their ambitions.
He reiterated the team’s commitment to following Dreams FC’s example and their readiness to overcome any obstacles they may encounter in their quest for CAF inter-club success.
