Wayne Perkey, a radio legend in Louisville, has passed away at the age of 84-years.
Terry Meiners of WHAS confirmed Perkey’s death on his own Facebook page on Sunday after a fight with COVID-19.
Perkey was the morning host on 840 WHAS for many years.
He began working at the station in 1969 and stayed for over 30 years.
He was also a known face to Louisville residents who had grown up watching the WHAS Crusade for Children.
He was one of just three people to ever emcee the telethon, which he did for 30 years.
