The Year of Return, Ghana 2019 which has been described as a major landmark marketing campaign targeting the African β American and Diaspora Market to mark 400 years of the first enslaved Africans arriving in Jamestown Virginia, is gradually gaining ignition.
The initiative has attracted a host of celebrities to Ghana in the past few months purposely to acquaint themselves with their roots.
Renowned American and TV host, Steve Harvey becomes the latest African American diasporan to visit the country for the aforementioned purpose. Steve Harvey is reported to be in Ghana with his family to visit the various tourist sites including the castles where slaves were accommodated, learn more about Ghanaian music and also about African roots.
The Minister of Tourism, Barbara Oteng Gyasi and the Year of Return committee met up with the ace celebrity at the W.E.B DuBois Centre in Cantoments, Accra. The Tourism Minister, who welcomed Steve Harvey was delighted to have him visit the country.
