Former President John Mahama recently made a nostalgic visit to his former hall at the University of Ghana’s Commonwealth Hall, as part of a working tour of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

Accompanied by John Dumelo, the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the upcoming 2024 elections, and other party officials, Mahama revisited the hall where he resided during his undergraduate studies.

Room A32, where Mahama stayed during his time at the University, was filled with cheers and excitement from the students as they welcomed back their former resident. Videos circulating online captured the vandals at Commonwealth Hall passionately chanting ‘jama’ songs in support of Mahama, with the former president even joining in on the rhythmic chants.

The atmosphere at Vandal City, as Commonwealth Hall is also known, was electrifying as students screamed campaign songs in solidarity with Mahama. The visit provided an opportunity for the former president to interact with the students and bask in the warm reception from the vibrant crowd.

Social media was abuzz with posts and videos of Mahama’s visit, with many expressing delight at his return to the University campus.
