June Blair, who played David Nelson’s real-life wife on the reality-defying ABC family sitcom The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, has passed away. 90 years old.

Blair died on Monday from natural causes at her Sherman Oaks home, according to The Hollywood Reporter and her daughter-in-law Susan Nelson.

Shortly after taking on the role of Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in January 1957, the redheaded Blair appeared in the noir film Hell Bound (1957), starring John Russell, portraying a lady who was embroiled in a convoluted drug robbery.

On “The Newlyweds Get Settled,” the third episode of the show’s tenth season, which aired on October 12, 1961, Blair made an unexpected debut as Mrs. June Nelson. Blair had previously appeared as a variety of roles on two episodes of Ozzie and Harriet in 1960.

David and Roberta (Roberta Shore) were still dating just a week prior, so the audience had to be confused. The popular series consistently straddled the line between reality and fiction because Ozzie and Harriet Nelson played David and Ricky’s parents both on and off camera. (In 1963, Ricky married Kristin Harmon, another program participant.)
