Courtney Michelle Love born July 9, 1964, is a singer, guitarist, composer, and actor from the United States. Her career has spanned four decades, beginning in the alternative and grunge sectors of the 1990s. She rose to notoriety as the main singer and rhythm guitarist of Hole, an alternative rock band she founded in 1989.

Love’s wild live performances and aggressive lyrics, as well as her highly-known personal life following her marriage to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, have drawn public attention. NME named her one of the 30 most important singers in alternative culture in the previous 30 years in 2020.

Love grew up in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood until her parents split in 1970.

During a custody hearing, her mother and one of her father’s lovers claimed that Hank had given Courtney LSD as a toddler. Carroll further claimed that Hank threatened to kidnap his daughter and flee to a distant country with her.

Yes, Courtney was adopted. Carroll, her father, and Love moved to the rural village of Marcola, Oregon, in 1970, where they lived near the Mohawk River while Carroll finished her psychology degree at the University of Oregon.
