The legendary American rock and roll singer and 1960s teen idol, Bobby Rydell has passed on at age 79 after battling pneumonia.
Bobby Rydell died on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Jefferson Hospital.
His music career at a very young age and became the youngest person ever to make it to the headline of the famous Copacabana in New York.
Bobby Rydell was notable for his songs like, “Forget Him”, “Wild One”, “Sway” and “Volare”.
He was also into acting and was featured in movies like “Because They’re Young” with “Swingin’ School” and “Bye, Bye Birdie” in 1963 where Bobby played the role of a teen heartthrob.
Bobby’s song “Kissin’ Time” made it onto the top 20 and for the next four years, he was a regular on the music charts in 1959.
He had 19 Top 40 hits and 29 songs on The Billboard Hot 100 and his top records sold at a total of a whooping sum of over 25 million records.
