Actor Anne Heche has died from a brain injury she suffered a week ago from a car crash.
Heche was 53 years old.
Was Anne Heche an alcoholic?
Heche admitted to Walters that she used drugs and alcohol to escape her difficult background. “I grew up in a wild household, and it took 31 years to get the crazy out of me,” she explained at the time.
Following the Emmy-winning actor’s horrible vehicle accident last Friday, Anne Heche’s family and friends hoped for a miracle.
It didn’t come, and her family is facing the agonizing choice to remove her from life support after she was declared brain dead. She was on a ventilator until a friend declared her dead.
“We want to thank everyone for their good thoughts and prayers for Anne’s recovery, as well as the committed staff and great nurses at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital in Los Angeles.”
“Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She was not expected to survive,” a rep for Heche’s family and friends told Deadline.
Heche had two sons; Atlas Heche Tupper, and Homer Laffoon.
In 2001, Heche married cameraman Coleman Laffoon, with whom she had a son.
The marriage ended in divorce and in 2009, Heche had a son with James Tupper, her Men in Trees co-star. Heche was worth 7 million when she died.
