Coleen Rooney announced on Twitter on October 9th, 2019, that posts from her private Instagram account had been leaked to The Sun newspaper.
Rooney confirmed that Rebekah Vardy’s account was the only one who saw these posts, implying that she was the one who did them. This tweet became known as ‘Wagatha Christie,’ a combination of the football phrase WAG and the mystery author Agatha Christie.
Vardy filed a defamation lawsuit against Rooney in June 2020.
