Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy is a Ukrainian politician, former actor, and comedian. He assumed office as the President of Ukraine in 2019.
The President grew up in Kryvyi Rih, a Russian-speaking region in southeastern Ukraine. After he obtained a Law Degree from Kyiv National Economic University, he went on to pursue comedy.
Tensions still remain high after Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

His father is Oleksandr Zelenskyy. He is a professor and head of the Department of Cybernetics and Computing Hardware at the Kryvyi Rih Institute of Economics.
Zelensky’s father is also is a mining scientist who specializes in the automation of geological and surveying support.
His mother is Rymma Zelenska. She used to work as an engineer.
