In a recent show of dedication to environmental consciousness, Abraham Norman Nortey, in collaboration with fellow students from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), spearheaded a comprehensive five-hour cleanup campaign on the campus.
The project aimed to emphasize the significance of maintaining a clean environment within the university community.
The cleanup operation encompassed various crucial areas such as Ayensu Round Palace, Adwoa Dufie, Ayensu Plaza, and the Science Market.
Students actively participated by clearing gutters, sweeping streets, and managing overgrown vegetation, notably enhancing the cleanliness of these locales.
After the successful conclusion of the cleanup, Abraham Norman Nortey, the CEO of the Visionary Norman Foundation, expressed profound appreciation to all students who dedicated their time and effort to the cause.
Nortey emphasized the pivotal role of cleanliness in fostering good health, aligning with the popular adage, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”
He urged the university community to uphold responsible waste disposal practices and utilize the waste bins provided by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and the university administration.
Highlighting the importance of collective accountability in sustaining a hygienic environment conducive to learning and overall well-being, Nortey extended his gratitude to the UCC Environmental Health Section, the Directorate of Public Affairs, the Visionary Norman Foundation, and the Community Assembly for their invaluable support in the initiative’s success.
