Six days ago, the fashion industry lost one of its most excellent contemporary creative designers, Virgil Abloh.

The American fashion designer, entrepreneur, and disc jockey, who was the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection, kicked the bucket on November 28, 2021, aged 41. He died after battling a rare, aggressive cancer for two years.

“For over two years, Virgil valiantly battled a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma,” his family revealed in an Instagram post.

“He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture,” the post added.

The family of fashion designer has asked for privacy from everyone while they mourn their member. In a statement on Instagram, his family said: “We thank you all for your love and support, and we ask for privacy as we grieve and celebrate Virgil’s life.”

This means his autopsy report and pictures may not be readily available to the public. It may take some time for the family to release them.

Moreover, his funeral and burial details are yet to be released by the family.
