Vince Hill had gone through a lot before his death which occurred on 21 July 2023, he was 89 years old at the time of his death. He had lost both his wife and son and had battled a great deal of illness before his death. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2004 and had undergone successful surgery. Hill was also diagnosed with Leukemia years after his prostate surgery.

Hill was a well-respected English traditional pop music singer and songwriter. He was mostly known for recording the Rodgers and Hammerstein show tune Edelweiss.
Before pursuing music Hill had worked wild range of jobs before deciding to pursue music full-time. He had worked as a baker, truck driver, and coal miner. Luck shone on him when he scored his big break as a vocalist for The Band of the Royal Corps of Signals.

Vince Hill had met his lovely wife when he was just 23 and Annie was 17 years old. Before they met, Annie Hill was working as a secretary for famous showbiz agent Tito Burns.
After going out several times they got married in 1959 and they couldn’t be anymore happier with themselves. Vince Hill has always credited his success to his wife Annie Hill, especially with his successful solo career in music.
It is unfortunate that the couple couldn’t enjoy their time together. Annie Hill died at the age of 77 in September 2016. According to reports gathered she passed away from a degenerative lung condition.
