Viktor Orban was born in Székesfehérvár on May 31, 1963, into a rural middle-class household as the eldest son of entrepreneur and agronomic Gyz Orbán (born 1940) and special school teacher and speech therapist Erzsébet Spos (born 1944).

Mihály Orbán, his paternal grandpa, was a farmer and animal husbandry practitioner. Orbán grew up in two neighboring villages, Alcstdoboz and Felcst in Fejér County, where he attended school as well as Vértesacsa.

His family relocated to Székesfehérvár permanently in 1977.

Orbán graduated from Székesfehérvár’s Blanka Teleki High School in 1981, where he studied English.

He studied law at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest after serving two years in the military.

Gyz, Jr. (born 1965) and Ron (born 1965) are his two younger brothers, also entrepreneurs (born 1977).
