The 13th African Games opening ceremony was witnessed by a swarm of fans on Friday, March 8, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. The fans had an incredible time.
Top Ghanaian singers, including as Dancehall star Shatta Wale, King Promise, and South African wonder Kamo Mphela, gave amazing performances that enhanced the inauguration event even more.
But the real star of the show was Shatta Wale. The whole stadium erupted as soon as he took the stage. The crowd was left wanting more after his outstanding performance.
Shatta Wale is considered one of Africa’s greatest musicians, and his performance demonstrated why.
Sports officials and athletes enthusiastically clad in their national colors, representing countries ranging from Ghana to Ethiopia, Tunisia to South Africa, Burundi, and more, were on display at the lively and colorful opening ceremony that won over hearts across the world.
Every sporting discipline from the many nations made a symbolic grand entrance, demonstrating the unity and diversity of the African continent.
The highlight of the show came when he stopped singing his massive hit song “Ayoo” and did a series of intense “Kolo” dance routines that made the crowd go crazy.
