Last Saturday, 8th December 2018, was the day Upper West songstress Wiyaala, invited Teddy Osei, to perform a duet with her at “The Lioness Concert” at Alliance Francaise, Accra to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ghana’s legendary world-conquering band, Osibisa.
In one of those rare moments, when history and the present combine to create “a moment in time”, some were moved to tears as wheel-chair bound Teddy and Wiyaala performed “Woyaya”, one of the many evergreen songs penned by the band whose Billboard hits remain popular to this day.
Wiyaala said; “Osibisa were such legends in their time and it was a huge honour when Teddy agreed to come and celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary with me.”
