Ghanaian actor Agya Koo made headlines recently when he abruptly ended his performance at a funeral after a member of the crowd chanted support for former President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a viral video shared online, Agya Koo, who was performing with a live band, stopped singing to address the attendee who shouted in support of John Mahama.

The actor, who seemed unimpressed by the act, explained that some members of the music band are key members of the opposition NDC. Despite this, he emphasized that they are all Ghanaians working together, regardless of their political affiliations.

“We are all Ghanaians, and we are all tolerant. We have members of the NDC in our band, but we are all working together,” he said while addressing the crowd. Agya Koo pointed out that one of the band members used to be a teacher but is now an NPP organizer, while the drummers are NDC members.

Feeling disrespected by the chant, Agya Koo decided to end his performance and walk out. “I was surprised and disappointed by the chant, we were there to perform and unite, not to campaign,” he expressed.

The incident has sparked conversation online, with many praising Agya Koo for his stance on unity and tolerance in the midst of political differences.
