Broadcaster and host of ‘Kokrokoo’ show on Peace FM, Kwami Sefa Kayi has slammed Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy over a fight that broke during the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The 20th show which was met with a lot of excitement from music fans across the country and other parts of Africa came to a disgraceful end.
Shatta Wale crashed Stonebwoy’s acceptance speech for the “Dancehall Artiste of the Year” award – which he had won five times in a row.
He and his entourage stormed the stage to stop him but Stonebwoy’s manager, Sidi Mohammed, was quick to block them, leading to a fistfight.
The ceremony was halted for some minutes including live TV broadcasting as a result of the fight.
But when the show resumed, Stonebwoy went on stage to call out Wale, describing him as a warmonger and dared him to face him in a fistfight.
Reacting to this, Chairman General described the situation as shameful and uncalled for, and further announced that the organisers have suspended two awards; “Song of the Year” and “Artiste of the Year”.
“What happened very shameful and uncalled for,” he stated. “Out of the three awards, we will present only one later.”
