Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has been outdoored as the running mate to the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to mixed reactions.
Founder of the PanAfrican Heritage Museum (PAHM), Kojo Yankah, described her as a “breath of fresh air” with “original ideas”, following her investiture at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on April 24th.
In her address during the outdooring ceremony, Prof Opoku-Agyemang emphasized the importance of holding corrupt officials of the Akufo-Addo administration accountable if the NDC wins the upcoming elections. She highlighted the significance of consensus building and the need to strengthen institutions to combat corruption and protect national assets.
The professor also expressed her passion for justice, protecting the environment, and ensuring the well-being of all citizens, including the differently abled. She called for an end to the culture of silence and highlighted instances of injustice and disenfranchisement in the country.
As the countdown to the elections continues, it is clear that Prof Opoku-Agyemang is poised to bring a fresh perspective and a commitment to transparency and accountability to the NDC’s campaign.
