The Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) of the Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly has disputed claims of people losing their penises in Kasoa and surrounding areas.
According to a statement issued by the Municipal Chief Executive, Anita Love Obo Amissah, who also serves as the head of the Municipal Security Council, there was no medical evidence of such an incident in the region.
“The Municipal Security Council has been made aware that certain citizens are spreading rumors that ritualists are present in the municipality and that once they touch a male’s genitalia, the victim’s penis vanishes.
The situation has sparked widespread alarm. “Panic and chaos among the residents of the Awutu Senya East Municipality,” the statement read.
While advising members of the public to avoid false reports while carrying out their jobs, the Council stated that it has taken strong offense to the rumours and would guarantee that anybody found guilty of peddling such falsehoods is severely penalized.
“The Security Council has taken a very severe exception to the situation and wishes to tell the general public that they may go about their daily responsibilities without worry, and that the Security Council is on top of its game to guarantee a joyful Easter celebration.
