British television host Ann Valerie, Lady Solti (née Pitts; 19 August 1937 – 31 March 2021) was a founding member of the BBC’s initial team of presenters in the 1950s.
In 1960, she quit the program to wed Sadler’s Wells Opera Company stage manager James Sargent. She was employed by Granada Television as well. Later, she wed Sir Georg Solti, a conductor.

Lady Solti died at home in London in March 2021 at the age of 83. The actual cause of his death has not been disclosed to the general public.
Pitts served as the patroness of the World Orchestra for Peace, whose debut performance at the United Nations was led by her husband, who created the organization.
