Ukraine strengthens diplomatic ties with Ghana by opening embassy in Accra
In a significant move to enhance diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Ghana, Ukraine has officially opened an embassy in Accra. This newly established embassy will serve as a hub for providing consular services to both Ghanaian and Ukrainian citizens. Additionally, it will play a crucial role in facilitating trade, bilateral partnerships, and business collaborations between the two countries.
During the inauguration ceremony held on Friday, April 12, Dr. Maksym Subh, Special Envoy of Ukraine to the Middle East and Africa, emphasized Ukraine’s commitment to working closely with Ghana to create a business-friendly environment. This collaboration aims to leverage Ghana’s stable economic and political framework to generate job opportunities for citizens of both nations.
Dr. Subh stated, “Today’s opening of our resident embassy in Accra very much reflects our willingness to develop bilateral contacts at all levels between Ukraine and the Republic of Ghana. Ukraine is ready to collaborate with our Ghanaian partners to create an enabling business environment that builds upon Ghana’s stable economic and political foundation and creates jobs for citizens of both our countries.”
Kwaku Ampratum-Sarpong, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, also expressed optimism about the potential for a productive partnership between Ghana and Ukraine. He believes that the opening of the Ukraine Embassy will further strengthen bilateral relations and accelerate diplomatic, economic, trade, and investment ties for the mutual benefit of both countries.
The inauguration of the Ukraine Embassy in Accra signifies a new chapter in the relationship between Ukraine and Ghana. It is a step towards fostering closer ties, enhancing cooperation, and unlocking opportunities for economic growth and development in both nations.
