On his 34th birthday, Tyson Fury revealed his intention to end his boxing career once more.
Following his knockout victory against Dillian Whyte in April, “The Gypsy King” swore to retire from boxing.
Since then, he has consistently hinted that he could fight again, most recently saying that he was in talks to face Dereck Chisora a third time.
The winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II would face Fury in the ring to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion. Fury currently holds the WBC title.
But he reiterated that the show is done in a social media statement that was published on Friday morning.
‘Massive thanks to everyone who had an input in my career over the years and after long hard conversations I’ve finally decided to walk away and on my 34th birthday I say Bon Voyage,’ Fury wrote.
Fury’s past retirement declarations have been received with skepticism from his supporters, opponents, and even his own promoters.
Frank Warren even hinted last week that a comeback might still be in the works.
