Tyler Perry is an American actor, comedian, filmmaker, and playwright who was born Emmitt Perry Jr. on September 13, 1969. He created the Madea persona, a strong elderly woman, and also plays her.
The styles of Perry’s movies range from conventional methods of filmmaking to video renditions of live stage plays. Many of his stage-play films have now been transformed into full-length motion pictures.
In the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, Perry produced and authored a lot of theater plays. He also created a number of television shows, most notably Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, which aired on TBS from 2006 to 2012 for eight seasons.
