The Ondo State Police Command declared on Tuesday that it had arrested two individuals, whose names are being withheld, in connection with the death of Abiodun Akintomowo, a man who lived in Ondo town, Ondo State.

According to reports, Akintomowo passed away on Sunday after allegedly engaging in a sexual altercation with a woman who was thought to be his girlfriend at a hotel in the Akinjagunla neighborhood.

Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the State Police Public Relations Officer, said that one of the suspects was the deceased’s girlfriend and the other was the hotel owner where the incident took place. She declined to name the other suspects.

According to the PPRO, “The man (deceased) was taken to the hospital and later died because he did not feel well following his sexual encounter with the woman in the hotel. The two suspects are still in our custody.”

She stated that although the deceased’s remains had been placed in the town’s hospital morgue, an investigation into the incident was still ongoing.

According to a source, the deceased collapsed in the hotel room following the reported sex romp, and the woman then raised the alarm.

However, “the woman raised the alarm after realizing that the man collapsed. The manager of the hotel and some residents raced to the scene and made frantic efforts to rescue the man. Later, it was confirmed that he was dead,” the source said.

The manager of the hotel had also reported the incident to the nearby Yaba Divisional Police station, he added.

Meanwhile, the police arrived at the post and conveyed the deceased person’s motionless body to the University of Medical Sciences morgue in Ondo town.
