A shooting in Stone Mountain left two people dead and two injured men facing charges, authorities said.

DeKalb County Police said the crime happened at a home on Cedar Park Trail, just off Kelton Drive, shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived at the scene, they found three people who were shot.

Police said two men, later identified as 36-year-olds Twayne Worthy and Deenay Munford, died from their injuries.

Authorities said the third person, 32-year-old Brandon Johnson, was taken to the hospital and believed to be in critical condition. Officers said they are seeking felony murder charges against Johnson.

Police said another person who was shot in the leg appeared at the hospital close to 11 a.m. As of Wednesday, police have charged the fourth person, later identified as 27-year-old Jamal Cook, with two counts of felony murder and one count of aggravated assault.

The shooting appears to be drug-related, according to authorities. Neighbors Latoya and Quincy Vincent said they heard the shooting unfold early in the morning.

“We heard a shotgun first. It was like, ‘pow pow,’ then it sounds like someone I guess was trying to shoot back because you heard a faster gun just go off,” said Latoya. The two were asleep when they heard the gunfire riddle their neighborhood.

“It’s unbelievable to hear that so close to your house. This is nothing new to this area over here,” said Quincy. Activist Amos King said this part of Stone Mountain has been filled with crime in recent years. King is calling for more police patrols but said patrolling is not the only option.
