The event happened on February 8, 2024, in Sene Bokankye in the Ashanti Region, when the two suspects broke into the deceased’s home in an attempt to rob it, according to a report by myjoyonline.com.
The deceased was allegedly struck twice in the head by the accused using a cement block while she was asleep. After realizing she was dead, the accused proceeded to sexually abuse her body.
She further said that her cell phone and GHC42.00 in cash were taken by them.
When the deceased’s son, who had returned from school, chanced to see how his mother was doing, he alerted the neighbors, who discovered her beaten, nude body in a pool of blood.
Following a police investigation of the deceased’s body, the report stated that semen was discovered surrounding the deceased’s genitalia and that there were large scratches on her left ear, a crushed skull around her forehead, and blood seeping from her nose.
Her remains were placed for autopsy and preservation at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
According to the postmortem report, she had unnatural sex, physical force trauma, and significant brain injuries.
During their police interrogation, the suspects admitted that they had entered the incomplete building where the deceased lives to smoke Indian hemp before breaking into her room to steal.
Inspector Abdul-Wahab Yusif Seoune of the Abuakwa Police conducted the investigation that resulted in the two suspects’ arrests after it was discovered that the deceased’s sim card and stolen phone belonged to them.
