Twitter/X is set to replace its iconic birdhouse home icon with a conventional house.
This shift in the platform’s branding was confirmed by popular American tabloid Popcrave. The news indicates a major overhaul initiated by Elon Musk since acquiring Twitter last year.
Taking to social media, Twitter/X’s owner announced, “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds. If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make it go live worldwide tomorrow.”
Elon Musk’s fascination with the letter ‘X’ is evident in this change, as Twitter is no longer an independent entity but has been merged into a newly formed company named X Corp. Musk’s vision for the platform is to transform it into “X, the everything app,” as he expressed in a previous tweet.
This acquisition has already witnessed substantial modifications to Twitter, including layoffs and the introduction of a paid verification plan.
Furthermore, Twitter recently announced its plan to implement limits on the number of direct messages that unverified users can send, with the goal of reducing spam. Subscribers to Twitter Blue, which offers paid verification, will be exempt from these restrictions.
