Actor and director Turgun Tursunovich Azizov has sadly passed away at the age of 89. People’s Artist of Uzbekistan in 1974. After graduating from the Tashkent State Art Institute in 1956, he became an actor at the Hamza Theater.

However, Turgun Azizov was born in Tashkent in 1934. After graduating from school in 1953, he began studying at the Tashkent State Theater and Art Institute named after A. N. Ostrovsky at the Faculty of Drama and Film.
Even in his student years, Turgun Azizov played the role of Ferdinand in Schiller’s play “Cunning and Love”, and later was invited by his mentor Toshkhoja Khojaev to work at the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater named after Hamza, for more than 50 years he was one of the leading actors of the theater.
Since 1980, without interruption from his main activity, Turgun Azizov taught at the State Institute of Arts of Uzbekistan.
