An’treyon “Trey” Sermon, a running back for the National Football League’s Philadelphia Eagles, was born on January 30, 1999. (NFL). In the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected him after his college football career at Oklahoma and Ohio State.

Sermon started three games as a true freshman at Oklahoma in 2017. He finished the season with 744 yards on 121 carries and five touchdowns. As a sophomore in 2018, he split time with Kennedy Brooks, rushing for 947 yards on 164 carries and 13 touchdowns. As a junior in 2019, he appeared in nine games and had 54 carries for 385 yards and four touchdowns.

In 2020, Sermon transferred to Ohio State University to pursue a graduate degree. Sermon’s 331 running yards in the 2020 Big Ten Championship Game versus Northwestern University were a record for an Ohio State player and the most ever in a Football Bowl Subdivision championship game. He won game MVP honors. Sermon led his team to a 49-28 victory over Clemson in the 2021 Sugar Bowl by rushing for 193 yards, scoring a rushing touchdown, and receiving 4 catches for 61 yards. Sermon was hurt on the opening play of the 2021 National Championship Game against Alabama and did not return.
