American salesperson Travis Alexander (July 28, 1977 – June 4, 2008) was killed in Arizona by his ex-girlfriend Jodi Ann Arias (born July 9, 1980). On May 8, 2013, a jury found Arias guilty of first-degree murder. On April 13, 2015, he was given a life sentence without the possibility of release.
Alexander was shot in the head and sustained 27 knife wounds at the time of the murder. Arias claimed that she murdered him in self-defense, but the jury found her guilty of first-degree murder regardless of her testimony. The jury was unable to agree on the death penalty during the sentencing phase; as a result, Arias was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole. In the United States, the murder and trial attracted a lot of media interest.

Gary David Alexander (1948-1997) and Pamela Elizabeth Morgan Alexander welcomed Travis Victor Alexander into the world on July 28, 1977 in Riverside, California (1953–2005). Travis moved in with his paternal grandparents when he was 11 years old. His seven brothers were likewise housed by their paternal grandmother following the passing of their father in July 1997. For Pre-Paid Legal Services, Alexander worked as a salesman and motivational speaker (PPL).
