Musician Mac Sinise, son of actor Gary Sinise, has tragically passed away from the rare spinal cancer Chordoma. The news was announced by the “Forrest Gump” star on the Gary Sinise Foundation’s website.

Mac Sinise had recently finished working on his album “Resurrection & Revival” before losing his battle with the disease on January 5. His father expressed deep sorrow in a touching tribute, reflecting on Mac’s strength and resilience throughout his years-long fight.

Diagnosed with Chordoma in August 2018, Mac underwent multiple surgeries and treatments in an effort to combat the cancer. Despite the uphill battle, his spirit remained strong as he continued to work with the Gary Sinise Foundation, supporting veterans and first responders.

As a member of the Foundation, Mac made significant contributions to the organization, managing various responsibilities and engaging with the community. His positive energy and dedication left a lasting impact on those around him.

Gary Sinise praised his son’s unwavering determination and compared his courage to the resilient soldier in the film “1917”, never backing down in the face of adversity. The Sinise family has been touched by the outpouring of support and kind gestures from well-wishers during this difficult time.

In lieu of any specific requests, donations to either the Chordoma Foundation or the Gary Sinise Foundation have been suggested as a way to honor Mac’s memory. The family is deeply grateful for the love and prayers they have received from friends, fans, and supporters.
