American musician Trace Dempsey Cyrus was born Neil Timothy Helson on February 24, 1989. He is the brother of musicians Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus and the son of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus.

He previously played guitar and provided backing vocals for the band Metro Station from 2010 to 2014. He started playing guitar and singing in the pop rock band Ashland HIGH in 2010. Additionally, he owns the apparel business From Backseats to Bedrooms.
