Over four centuries, as the center of the gold and later the slave trades, Ghana’s castles and forts influenced not only the country’s history but the history of the entire world. They represent the beginning of the African Diaspora and are important and poignant symbols of European-African interactions. Numerous tourist attractions have been created throughout the nation by these castles and forts.
A tourist has, however, claimed that a castle in the Western Region known as Fort Metal Cross in a town called Dixcove in the Ahanta West Municipality has been sold to Italians, with some of its components being used as Airbnb.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that the first governor who used to reside in the fort was a white British person’s descendent, and that person had rented the fort for a restaurant.
There, they arrange covert meetings and throw lavish parties for the top wealthy. The locals have voiced their complaints, but the government has, as usual, ignored them.
Many people on X formally Twitter are skeptical about this story, raising doubts about its veracity.

Fort Metal Cross, a former name for Dixcove Fort, is a British colonial fortress located near the fishing hamlet of Infuma in Dixcove, sometimes called Dick’s Cove, in the Western Region of Ghana. The cove’s calm waters should be navigable for small boats and canoes; larger ships should anchor two kilometers offshore.
