He founded the blues rock band Groundhogs, who backed Champion Jack Dupree and John Lee Hooker on UK concerts in the mid-1960s. He is often credited as ‘Tony McPhee’.
He was born to his parents on March 23, 1944, in Humberston, United Kingdom but sadly passed away on June 6, 2023, of complications from a fall that occurred the previous year. He was 79.
