Tommy Gainey siblings: Meet his brother Allen Gainey
Gainey’s 13-month-old brother Allen marvels at how much money his middle-class parents spent on golf equipment for him and Tommy while raising four children.
Judy, their mother, still works the night shift at a coffee filter mill, and Allen says Tommy is determined to earn enough money for her to be able to retire.

Gainey became a pro in 1997 and spent the following several years playing on regional circuits in the southern United States. Gainey won four Egolf Tarheel Tour tournaments, two in 2006 and one in 2007.
He also competed on the Gateway Tour and won an event on the NGA Hooters Tour.
Does Tommy Gainey share the same parents with his brother?
They share the same parents as of 2022.
Gainey always plays golf while wearing black wet-weather golf gloves, one on each hand. On October 21, 2012, he revealed that because his father (who taught him to the game) wore two gloves, he learned to play with them.
On full shots, Gainey employs a highly uncommon baseball grip, hooking his left (top) thumb behind his right hand (the normal position for the left thumb for a right-handed golfer is under the right thumb). His swing is particularly notable for being jerky and erratic, and has been compared to “trying to kill a snake with a garden hose.” Under Armour, Adams Golf, and The Dow Group were among his other 2011 sponsors. Gainey switched to Callaway Clubs in 2012, and he still uses them now.
