Tom T. Hall daughter: Does Tom T. Hall have a daughter?

Tom Hall was American singer and songwriter. He was born on May 25, 1936, in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

At the age of nine, he composed his first song, “Haven’t I Been Good to You,” and he significantly benefitted from the mentorship of local musician Lonnie Easterly.

Hall’s first band, the Kentucky Travelers, performed bluegrass at local schools and on radio in Morehead, Kentucky, when he was still a teenager.

Before joining the US Army in 1957, he composed jingles for a radio sponsor and worked as a radio DJ. While stationed in Germany, he sang original songs on the Armed Forces Radio Network.

This spurred Hall’s migration to Nashville in 1964 to seek a career as a songwriter.

Early recordings of Hall’s material were made by Newman, Dave Dudley (“Mad,” a Top Ten country success in 1964), and Johnnie Wright (“Hello Vietnam,” Hall’s first country #1 in 1965.

Tom T. Hall was recognized as an American storyteller, a songwriter with an ear for detail and a gift for storytelling.

Many performers have recorded his compositions, including Jeannie C. Riley’s 1968 smash “Harper Valley P.T.A.” He also had a number of solo hits, including seven number-one singles.
